3. How to turn a bad day into a good day!

 

When you’re feeling down, do you find everything that happens that day supports and confirms how right you were and how bad your day is?!  

Language is the golden key to shifting an unwanted pesky mood, and I am not suggesting we can never allow ourselves to feel out of sorts, but this is more for those moods that keep you stuck, wallowing in the mud instead of facing change and challenge. So, back to language; if I say, ‘Urgh, I can’t imagine having any fun if I don’t drink tonight’ OR ‘I cannot wait to see all my friends and have a good catch up tonight, plus I’ll be hangover free tomorrow, so I’ll head out for a morning walk’ which one feels like it would help you move forward and closer to positive change and grateful to be alive?! What is incredible is that just by choosing to use gloomy words along the lines of SHOULD/ MUST/ HAVE TO etc., we unconsciously have a negative influence on our thoughts, emotions and actions, and we don’t want that, do we!  

So, it’s time to: 

- Catch those ‘downer’ words. 

- Put on your curiosity goggles and observe how they make you feel.  

- write them down. 

- Then replace them with more positive, kind, compassionate ones and hey presto, life takes on a whole new vibe! I promise, try it; it works!
